PhD Candidate in Applied Linguistics, critical French language educator

I am a passionate educator and researcher dedicated to promoting humanity and justice in language education. My research centers on the ways in which ideology operates within French foreign language settings, highlighting both problems and possibilities for equitable and inclusive classrooms. One strand of my research investigates the experiences of non-binary students learning French and Spanish; another highlights the context-specific ways in which colonialism and white supremacy manifest in French foreign language curriculum. I believe that critical self-reflection, humility, curiosity, and purposeful action are necessary for the pursuit of justice and that all voices are needed in this effort.
